Radio Controlled Aircraft Operations at the Airport:
Radio Controlled (R/C) aircraft are often flown by hobbyists from the airport. (NOTAM: Y87 AIRSPACE UAS WI AN AREA DEFINED AS .5NM RADIUS OF Y87 SFC-400FT AGL DLY 1300-0001). R/C aircraft flight operations originate from a 300' x 30' paved runway Southeast of the intersection of runways 9/27 and 17/35. While the R/C flyers are diligent about landing their aircraft whenever a full sized aircraft enters the pattern or taxis to the runway for takeoff, please be aware of R/C aircraft when arriving and departing the airport.

Tie Downs - Tie down parking $3 per day. Plenty of tie down space, with nine spaces having in-ground shackles. If you forget your tie down ropes, several are available in the hutch next to the pilot lounge.

Hangars - All Hangars are privately owned. Hangar multi-year ground leases are available fo those looking to build their own hangar. There are currently eight hangars onsite. Contact the airport manager (www.empireairport.com/contact.html) for more information regarding hangar ground leasing and building your hangar at the William B. Bolton Airport in Empire.
